You are doing this, and you don’t even know it. Bruxism (teeth grinding/clenching), you may be clenching or grinding your teeth during sleep or when you are awake. People who clench or grind their teeth during sleep are more likely to have other sleep disorders such as snoring and pauses in breathing (sleep apnea).

Mild bruxism may not require treatment. However, in some cases, bruxism can be frequent and severe enough to lead to headaches, damaged teeth, and jaw disorders. Damages to the joints may lead to arthritic changes, chronic pain, and popping and clicking of the jaw. Once these changes settle in, reversing these conditions becomes impossible.
